Kathleen Hannigan
I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina where the beauty of nature surrounds me.
Whether it's a falling leaf, a twisting vine or a shell on the sand, each gives me the inspiration for the form, line and color that I use in my daily work.
Each piece is hand- built with stoneware clay and the small batch glazes I make in the studio. My hope is that these pieces will bring beauty to daily rituals — morning breakfast, shared meals, moments of contemplation.
Small-batch, made slowly, meant to be used.
I’m committed to small-batch production and thoughtful sourcing. My goal is to create lasting objects rather than disposable ones, honoring both materials and process.
Where Variation Becomes Beauty
Each piece is hand-built, trimmed, fired twice and glazed in my studio. I work in small batches, so no two pieces will be alike even amongst a set. Variations in glaze, texture, and shape are part of what makes each piece unique.
